How to optimize your resume for Taleo ATS

Taleo by Oracle is one of the oldest and most rigid Applicant Tracking Systems, widely used by large legacy enterprises, banks, and healthcare companies.

  • Exact Keyword Matches: Taleo uses strict keyword filtering. Use the exact phrasing from the job description.
  • Use DOCX Files: If a company uses Taleo, submitting a Word Document (.docx) is often safer than a PDF, as Taleo struggles with some PDF encodings.
  • Absolute Simplicity: No graphics, no columns, no fancy bullet points. Use standard black dots for bullets.
